    Hi all,

I am thinking about getting a Golf Mark V GT Sport around 57 plate. I have a query about the air cond, most cars seem to come with air conditioning as standard but you occasionally get some with the 2-zone climate control system. I know that the 2-zone system is the best avalible but could someone please tell me if the air conditioning system is ok or not ?

I have currently have a '03 Mark IV is climate control which is very good !

    Many Thanks in advance !

If you mean the Climatic system, which is just like a single zone Air con set up then yes, it's fine. Keeps you cool in the winter and warm in the summer. I don't know what else to say about it really! other than it works well.

The system in my car puts the recirculate on when you put the car in reverse or wash the windscreen with the sprayers to stop nasty diesel/washer fluid smells entering the cabin. Don't know if this is the same in petrol cars.

Climate control is for girls! IMO

The "Climatic" system is just conventional climate control without the ability of the fan speed and air distribution being controlled electronically to maintain the set temperature evenly such as to cool or warm the car quickly the driver would have to manually turn up the fan speed and then turn back down again as soon as it gets comfortable.

I've got 2Zone, which is great because I'm usually fairly warm, but my fiancee is a chilly mortal!

Yes, the independent temp setting for driver and passenger is great. Only things that would make me think twice about having it on a new car is the £695 price tag, and if/when it goes wrong it's likely to cost more to fix.

I have the 2zone climate control but don't understand the "dual" function.

When my "dual" button is lit, the driver and passenger temps adjust independently, but when the "dual" button is not lit, they both adjust in tandem - shouldn't it be the other way round?
