Hi I am new to the group. I have 2 Audi 90 Quattro Sport's and one of them, the one that my mother drives has started blowing the instrument cluster fuse.
I pulled out the instrument cluster and the fuse still blew. Then I determined that it only blew when you put it into reverse. It runs and drives perfect besides that. I also pulled out the reverse lights and the fuse still blew when I put it into reverse. Any sugestions on where I go from here?
    Thanks, Mark.

This fuse also supplies the number plate lights, quite likely you have a short off the reversing light wires, this would most likely be in the area of the boot hinge.

Hi I just wanted to let you know I checked the wires in the truck that bends, and sure enough when I took off the outer housing there were 3 wires cut and exposed that were causing the shorts to happen.
I spliced new wires in and all is working perfect again.
    Thanks, for the advise.
    Cheers, Mark.

I have this problem on my 1.6 SE. Is the problem area on the part where the wire enters the boot? Mine is a little bit mouldy. The fuse is blowing and the reverse lights are not working.

    Hi

Yes, the wires seem to have a hard time coping with the bootlid/hatch movement, the breaks are likely to be inside the rubber gaiter between the body and the bootlid.
