Hi, Ive just developed a problem with the roof compartment on my Audi 80 Cab. The button releasing the compartment is not working. I have checked all fuses and they are all ok. There is a noise of it trying to operate but without releasing it.

    Any ideas please?

    Many thanks

    Hi,

I'm having a similar problem with mine too, although the button releases the cover enough to open it but it then won't lock shut. I've been searching the web and it sounds like there is a problem with the wiring loom, as in the repeated action of opening closing the roof/boot causes the wires to get damaged. I'm taking mine to my local Audi specialist so I'll let you know if it does turn out to be the wiring. Sounds just like its wear and tear.

Have you tried the manual cover releases (under the flaps either side of the cover)?
