    Hi guys,

I bought a cable off ebay as my immobilizer kept cutting my car out (see other thread: https://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/s...ad.php?t=66965)

I just wanted to know if anyone else had any issue communicating with the ECU?

I did an Autoscan and it didn't find anything but it seems to have erased the fault code which was making the immobilizer cut the engine so is now running

Can anyone shed any light 'cause I'm confused as to how the problem is now fixed although I couldn't communicate with the ECU?

    Thanks,

    Kris

I'm not quite sure, its kind of a friends of a friend laptop I borrowed but apparently its for dumb interfaces such as the cable I have. Is there any issues with the cracked or properly registered software? is there anywhere I can look to see if the version is a legit or a cracked version?

    Thanks,

    Kris.

I don’t know, I only use a legitimate copy of VCDS and my old dumb interface ran 311 (legit) and then I went over to a dongle interface with 5 something so I have never used 409. We aren’t even allowed to discuss illegal versions on here. You will have to contact Ross Tech.

Ok thanks for the info. so do you know if V.311 is ok with the AKL ECU? If so, then the updated version should be too if its an update, it should be better not worse (its not like its developed by Microsoft where compatibility issues seem to be going backward lol.

I used to use 311 on AKL engines without a problem.
