    Hi all,

Had my Jetta 19TDI S for just under a year. Reasonably happy with it but the odd steering with the 5 degree of freeplay and the slight clutch judder from new were my only beefs. Judder is felt in first and reverse. Worse when the transmission is hot.

Went in yesterday for its 10K service and I mentioned the judder. When I picked it up they told me that VW HAD ISSUED A BULLETIN. MY SACHS CLUTCH SPRINGS WERE TOO WEAK AND THEY NEEDED TO FIT ANOTHER WITH STRONGER SPRINGS!!!!!!!!!

Clearly no recall then, just waiting for the complaints. Car goes in tomorrow for the full day job. Hope it doesn't come back with 5 reverse gears and one forward!

So long as they are paying for it then let them! Just make sure that the warranty is not reduced in anyway and that you are totally happy with the feel of the new one, no judder or notchy changes etc.

Anyone know if this is an engine out job?
