going to view a 2001 2.5 tdi this weekend its the blue i model so what bhp is it?

what are they like as every day transport?

runing cost mpg driving power wise and what sort of speed are they happy at crusing at on a motor way run?

most of the time is going to be kept empty so what sort of mpg will i be looking at.

lastly what common faults or problems should i be looking for

or would i even be better off buying a 1.9 td and remapping it?

    budgets around £3500

The blue i is an 88hp model. Don't get a 1.9, it's underpowered. I had a 102 hp 2.5 and could get 40mpg out of it if driven sensibly. Worst consumption was still 32mpg. They pull really well, and are generally reliable. Mine would cruise at 80-90 no problem. The 88 will just take a bit longer to get there.
