    Hi all,

Been a member for a while but never posted before - just sculked around in the background........

For the past couple of days, my yellow ABS warning lamp has lit up whilst driving, along with a flashing red exclamation mark, along with 3 beeps when it first happens. It's a bit hit and miss when this happens and may not happen at all.

Anyway, I hooked up VAG-COM and it found 2 faults - one with the 'Intake Manifold Pressure Sensor (G71)' and the other with the 'ABS Wheel Speed Sensor: Front Right (G45)'.

On reading some similar posts, I removed the (front right) wheel and then removed the ABS sensor. I gave it a brief wipe with a brillo pad followed with a quick spray of WD40, before replacing it.

The warning lamps on the dash have not since reoccurred but VAG-COM still reports '30-10 - Open or Short to B+ - Intermittent'.

Can anyone offer any further advice? Should I ignore VAG-COM and wait til the warning lamps return?

P.S. can anyone confirm how I should have refitted the sensor? I pushed it in as far as it would go, but does the rubber ring around the sensor acts as a buffer/shock or should it have been placed around the female housing once in place? Am I making sense?

Anyone have any clues about the 'Intake Manifold Pressure Sensor (G71)' fault? It's reporting '28-10 - Short to B+ - Intermittent'?

    Thanks in advance :-)

    A bit of an update........

I reversed off my drive this morning. As soon as I went forward, the warning lamps returned.

Interestingly, after stopping at the petrol station, the warning lamps didn't flash en route to the supermarket.

After finishing with the shopping, I reversed out of the parking space. Again, as soon as I put the car into 1st and moved off, the problem returned.

    Any help or advice appreciated.

    Dave

    Just a thought.....

The rubber ring, which I referred to in my first post, was aroud the sensor when I removed it.

Should this actually be in the housing/hub before the sensor is refitted, acting as a seal, rather than left around the sensor (as a buffer preventing it from being pushed all the way in)?

    Hope someone can help.

    Dave
