Ive have just got my 2003 pd100 passat on the road. I reset all of the mpg etc when i filled it up. I have done about 70 miles since and im only getting 33.1mpg! The ave speed is only 16mph though so this may explain it. How long does it take (mileage wise) for the readings to average out properly? Just it doesnt look too good up to now. Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers

There are two memories for the trip computer, one per journey and one that runs until it is reset. I posted all the guff for another member a while back...

    https://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/s...ead.php?t=6497

I have noticed that if I do a reset, it always starts with a very low MPG and climbs over time. I generally average around 42 MPG with a 130PD and I don't think this is as good as it should be - 33 is definately low...

I think you should reset the journey memory [No1] before doing a trip of at least 20 miles away from heavy traffic and see what reading you get, an average speed of 16mph suggests a lot of stop and start.

    Cheers

I reset them both. The journey average always reads a little more than total average but not much. As i say ive only done 70 miles so il leave it a bit longer and see how it goes. cheers
