I purchased a new Polo 6 months ago together with the 3 year service plan.

The car was written off when my wife was "T boned" at a junction by a 4x4 and my insurance company has bought me a new car, same spec. exactly.

You would think that since my written off car had had no benefit from the service plan that I would be due either a refund or a transfer to the new car.

Not so! the service plan I purchased dies with the car, no refund nothing.

All they will say is "sorry, you will have to pay for another service plan and there is no refund".

What a way to treat a customer, it is not as if it will cost them anything.

So here is a warning, don't buy the VW service plan in advance.

Well I have to stand corrected, after a bit of whinging and letter writing VW agreed to refund my money!

Interesting that the dealer was adamant that no refund was possible "after contacting VW on my behalf" and no transfer to my new car either.

So 10/10 for VW Uk and 0/10 for the dealer.
