I HAVE A 2001 2.5 V6 TDI A4 AND THE OTHER DAY SOMEONE SAID TO ME THAT THEY USED TO HAVE AN A6 WITH THE SAME ENGINE AND WARNED ME THAT THEY ARE QUITE PRONE TO THE BREATHER PIPES BLOCKING UP AND TO CHECK THEM,

IT WAS ONLY LATER WHEN I WAS THINKING ABOUT THIS I REALISED WHICH ONES DID HE MEAN

ANYONE GOT ANY IDEAS WHERE THEY MIGHT BE AND WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE?

    MANY THANKS

    its not the breather pipes
the breather pod itself blocks its located below injector pipes
there is a how to do in one of the sections that may be worth while looking at

worth replacing breather as when it blocks you can get oil leaks that would be a pain to fix
make sure you buy the later style breather, its not the easiest thing to fit but well worth doing

heres a how to from another forum

Yours allready has the modified part in it so, dont worry about it ! Only worry if the car has been on Longlife service intervals as the oil kept inside the engine for up to 2 years has done the engine no good and often means worn camshafts, a laborious and very costly job. Dont keep the revs under 1600 rpms either just to save fuel !
