Hi Craig,if you have climate control it possibly could be a vent control motor trying to move the flap.Have you tried changing the vent air direction around to see if it stops?Maybe a linkage is adrift?

Hi, Im just about to buy a4 (probably 2003) and I would like to ask you if you ahd any problems with the car. We're going to use it as a family car and it seem roomy but I'm not sure if any of you tried to use it for 2 and a 5 year old child. I found one here
    www.cbg.ie/SearchByMake.aspx?Make=43
and I wonder if you could compare the prices and tell me which whoul be the best choice. And one more thing, if you know of any possible hidden faults that may appeera in a used aud, let me know what to check befor I pay. I'll apereciate any anser from a4 users.

I've had my 02 A4 for two years and haven't had anything major go wrong on it in 40k with the exception of the wiper spindles. The brake switch could do with replacing at some point (£10 part, 20 mins to fit) but apart from that it's been fine. It's coped well with our 15 month old and all the associated paraphernalia that comes with her. We're off to Cornwall for a week in it from Sunday so that should be a good test of it's luggage capabilities.
