Can Xenon headlights be swapped in with halogen wiring loom?

Can anyone help?

I have an '06 A4 (2.0T) and would like to fit it with Audi Xenon headight units. I have approched my local dealer who apart from not being helpful, was not interested and said it was not an approved Audi retro-fit.

My question is, if I buy original Audi headlights what (if any) re-wiring is needed? Would it be possible to just cut of the H7 connector and attach the correct connector for the xenon headlight?
