I have a 52plate Passat TDi 130 Sport which has developed a fault which is driving me mad.
We towed our caravan (only a small 2 berth) to North Yorkshire some 2 months ago and the car drove superbly and I remarked to my wife what a wonderful tow car it was. However when hitching up to come back it had lost all it's power, 50mph flat out downhill! The car went into the garage who discovered a hole in the intercooler. This was replaced and all power was restored. Last month we took the caravan to the Lake District and exactly the same thing happened, fine there, no power coming home. The car went back to the garage who diagnosed a faulty air mass meter, fitting a new one restored all the power again. Last week we took the caravan to Durham and, guess what, exactly the same again, it's as if the car doesn't want to come home! Has anyone expereinced a similar problem, or have any ideas because so far i've spent some £350 to no avail and am seriously thinking of getting rid of the thing, but when it's right it's such a brilliant vehicle. Any help would be much appreciated
