Hello there people, I am new to this site and new to having an audi, a big jump because my first car was a corsa 1.2 and this been my second its way out the corsa's league.

Just bought a 2005 a4 b7 2.0 tdi (140) with 55000 on the clock and was wondering about what to get.

    Tuning box or a remap.
If i get either what other modification should i get to help i.e intake etc

    TUNING BOX:-
Have be told i could get a box that will take the bhp up to 190 which is great but will it effect the engine/cause problems.

REMAP:- Dont know much about the gains from this and if it is better for the engine than the box

Would like your expertise on this and point me in the right direction.

    Many thanks people.

    Hi,
I have a 2.0 TDI 140 S-Line with similar mileage and had it remapped by Motech in Northampton about 3 weeks ago. I am really impressed with the results. Not only does it feel more powerful and bags more torque it's improved the smoothness of power delivery. I think it's the best value way to get extra performance when you want it but still keep ecomomy if you drive it sensibly

Avoid tuning boxes, they are not the correct way to tune your car.

We charge £295.00 all in to members for a remap on your A4. This includes dyno power runs before and after, engine diagnostics and road tests.

You will see approx 185hp and 295lbs/ft torque

If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at info@p-torque.co.uk

If its your second car and the first was a only 1.2 litre, "used to it" would be the best advice anyone could give!

Thanks for your quick reply caldirun.

After having the car now for nearly 7 months, i feel i have got "used to it" and still want a re-map, but not just for the increase in bhp.

Been told the benefits from a remap are well worth it, from a smoother engine run to increased MPG and yeah more power.

Cant blame me for wanting more power because im only 22 and i still have a bit of the boy racer in me, which im sure most on here have and contain it until necessary and when safe.

don't waste any cash on an intake mod.
some are worse than usless, and those that actually add anything( 1-2 bhp if your lucky)
    are hugely expensive,

Its funny how so many people are quick to jump on the 'don't buy a tuning box wagon' especially those who don't sell them. Let me give you a bit of genuine advice from a company who offers both remapping and tuning kits. There are alot of cheap junk tuning boxes for sale out there giving tuning kits a bad name but equally there are very high quality tuning kits that will give you similar results to re-mapping.
Some of the high end tuning kits are made by companies who invest millions of Euros in research and development and make high quality digital controllers which can alter the ECU parameters to the injectors or turbo just as a re-mapper does when altering maps to achieve the same results.
Also some of the latest tuning kits can control multiple engine functions like fuelling/turbo and timing just as a re-map does but externally.

Its frustrating when people label all tuning boxes as the same because nothing could be further from the truth, there are good ones and bad ones just as there are good re-maps and bad ones.

Some people choose the option of a box for personal reasons, maybe they are concerned about warranty or the car is leased or hired, we sell many boxes to customers who don't want a re-map for just the reasons I mentioned. To say that tuning boxes are not the proper way to tune a car is total nonsense, in fact its a very viable option for many customers. I'm sure there will be alot of members reading this who will testify to their satisfaction with a high quality tuning box.

Our tuning boxes are high quality digital controllers available for the latest VAG engines some of which can't even be re-mapped right now without breaking open the ECU and voiding warranty!

All of our Premium Kits are fully plug in and when removed for servicing or warranty work leave no trace of having been fitted. You can also re-use them on your next car if its on our premium application list, the unit will just need re-programmed and may need a different cable with different connectors depending on your next car. These kits fit both diesel and petrol engines.

We offer a 30 day money back guarantee if you don't like it send it back for a full refund and 3 years product warranty.

Any questions PM or email me.
