Well, I drove my 2007 2.0 TDI multitronic S-line A4 (10K miles) down to Cornwall this weekend - the longest trip since collecting from the dealers last week. Its a nice drive but I have noticed a couple of possible problems, or is it just me

    1. I get a high frequency vibration/buzzing when I turn the steering wheel - especially towards full lock to the left. It is audible!
    2. The auto gearbox is very smooth once the car is going. However, it does seem to 'snatch' quite significantly on the 'pick-up' when crawling in traffic. I can lessen this effect if I allow the car to start 'creeping' before putting the power on.

Just newbie worries or is there a real problem?

    Cheers

    TB

I think you may need to get those problems checked out as I own an identical car (57 reg) and haven't experienced those niggles, in fact I've had my car almost 1 year now (I too got it with 10k on) without any problems to date. Did you buy your car from an Audi dealer and does it have a FV, FT or FY prefix to the reg no?

It does have an FV prefix - what is the significance?

I purchased from an Audi dealer. I have taken it back, but they say there is not a problem!!! That is rubbish I drive 30k miles per year and I am not imagining things!!

I have 12 years previously with Saab and 6 cars - and have never experienced anything like this

What should I do to get this moving forward??

    Thanks

I bought an A4 TDI Multi with sat nav etc on a FV07 (from an Audi dealer) and it was part of a big batch that most Audi dealers were selling and was previously owned by United leasing. Within a few weeks of buying it there was a slight problem and I took it to another Audi dealer who uncovered that the seals on the dash had been broken so the warranty was invalid. I took it back to the dealers I bought it from and kicked up a stink and ended up with a 57 reg as a replacement that was owned by VAG group but not FV or FT reg because after my expereince I didn't trust these cars.
