    Hi

Does anyone know if its possible to change the shutdown delay of the RSAP adapter when you turn off the ignition (Vagcom/hidden menu?)

The problem is that it takes over a minute for it to turn off at which point you can be in your house and the phone is still connected to the car kit!

    Cheers

This is pretty annoying now. If i just go to the car to get something out it starts pairing with the phone and if it doesnt finish it then has the effect of shutting the phone down! Are there vag-com controls for the power settings on the cradle? Ideally it doesnt want to turn on until i put the key in the ignition and it should switch off when i lock the car

With the standard BT prep I know that I can walk away from the car and the call continue when the BT drops.

I've heard this doesn't work on RSAP (and viceversa i.e. being on a call won't transfer to the car).

    Is this the case?

    Gone : 09 A4 Avant, B6 S4, TT, Golf GTi...and the rest are embarassing!

no - it wont transfer but it will continue the call until you hang up. it will then shut down the rsap adapter on a delay (a little clock appears on the rsap adapter screen that you are supposed to be able to adjust via mmi - there is only a tick box which i havent got ticked). Once the rsap adapter is shut down the sim restarts on your phone which then gets a signal.

the main problem is that the shut down delay seems to be over a minute which leaves you in no-mans land for too long.

I'm beginning to think that my previous solution of a modified cradle with an antenna adapter with phone prep low was a much better solution. However my new phone doesnt have an antenna port

Im glad I have basic phone low then, I cant fault its performance or design.

Out of interest, do you honestly need an external antenna these days? as that's the only benefit I can see with usaing rsap

i find it gives at least 3 bars of extra signal in low signal areas and in some parts gives me signal when i wouldnt get any using just the phone.

This now seems to work ok but i have to remember to turn bluetooth on and off when i get in and out of the car otherwise it gets itself in a pickle hanging my sim etc.

As matter of note, the firmware on the rSAP adapter is v1.00 (eek) and no sign of any updates from Audi.
