it used to go into reduced/ limp home mode whenever i hit about 50-60 mph, i had full boost all through the gears below this speed but when it got to this speed, it went into limp home and wouldnt come out until engine restarted. i had the air mass meter changed, made no difference, i had the vanes on the turbo checked to see if clogged up, no difference, check all boost pipes/ connections etc, cleaned egr valve, no difference, replaced the valve in question, (think its called n75 valve or might be n18 valve), fault codes all removed as had boost fault, i think it was overboost, but either way it was this valve that caused all that problem and the part is only about £30 !!
    hope this helps
