Was under my 00 2.5 tdi earlier and noticed that the aircon pulley had rubbed through a wire that comes from a sensor which looks to be on the bottom rad hose with 4 wires. I'm guessing its the sensor to operate the aircon (electric fan). After fixing the wires i tried letting the car heat up with the aircon on but the fan didnt cut in at all. Also the viscous fan on the engine is missing which is strange lol. The temp gauge never goes above 90 deg tho. Does anyone know when the electric fan should work? I just dont want the thing to overheat.

    Cheers.
