Hi everyone. My rear wash has been doing some strange things... When i spray the water the jet of water does not stay straight it moves with the wiper. It used to be solid and didnt move. Then moved a little bit. Now just goes fully with the wiper strokes. Whilst having my turbo looked at i asked them to take a quick look at that. They said it would need a new moter as the pipe goes threw the moter and its that that is probably sticking and quoted me £70 for a new moter!. On my MK3 golf i could remove the whole pipe and replace it. Any one any ideas? Can you remove the whole pipe or does it really need a new moter ?

    Any replies greatly appreiciated!

I have sourced a repair kit : Part Number 8L0998711. The repairs the internal copper pipe that corodes . You may be lucky and be able to greese up the plastic feederpipe and brass but like most it will be broken or completely ceased. I shall return once i get the kit tomorrow and install it.

Thanks for all the replies? Are you serious, you gave it an hour and a half!

Glad you found a solution though - report back when you've fitted and tested.

Considering selling my VCDS KEY-USB interface. If you're interested please contact me via PM or email.

£20 ish. I think the one i ordered was £23+vat. so £26.45. You could get a secondhand moter for that. But the pipe in that could be on its way out... If it goes again i think i will use pipeing like geord1egooner said. I will let you know when i get it tonight how i went on. The garage warned me it was a difficult job.

Well I got the kit. Was going to take pictures but my phone is broke!. You get a full reconditioning kit. You get new cogs and grease. A whole new spout and copper pipe. The instructions are easy to follow. It works a dream now! If you have the problem of the jet spinning and not staying straight then i would 100% recommend this kit!

Mine was starting to go the same way, so I managed to get the copper pipe out, without breaking it, cleaned it up with wet an dry, and regreased it with castrol LM grease, and job done. I figure spending 30 minutes once a year regreasing saves you money. I must add, that without a vice, you will struggle to get the copper tube out.
