    Andy. When you put the brakes on do the passenger brake and high level brake light come on. If they do it means the fault is only between the drivers side bulb and the previous connector. Are you absolutely sure you don't have 12v when the pedal is pressed.

    Have you lost both brake lighs and the high level light. That's the brake switch. Lost a single unit ? Use a test light to ensure you have power when the pedal is pressed. No power....look for a wire fault. Got power look carefully at the bulb holder.

    I've just checked again Martin, now I don't have 12v..... I'm really scratching my head now.

    Are the other brake lights working. If they are you need to trace the wire back to the previous connector and test for 12v there.
