    Hi Guys

I have recently replaced my normal headlights with a HID Kit, which I bought from HID Direct. The bulbs fit in fine etc, but have a problem when I went to MOT garage to get the headlampe realinged.... I hope someone can help me with this

In the original headlamp of Bora 2001 model, there is a metal shield in front of the bulb - do I have to remove this shield and directly replace with my HID bulb, or leave the metal shield and remove metal shield that came with the bulb and simply fit the bulb only.

Currently I have gone with the second option - when I took it for headlamp adjustment the guy said that light is reflected back because of the metal shield hence I am not getting a pattern.

I am hoping someone has got a solution to my problem - I don't want to loose the bulbs as the light from it is simply brilliant.

Thanks for your help in advance
    Kinj

Use the metal shield that came with the bulbs, or you will not get a correct beam pattern.

Using HID's for dipped beam in reflector enclosures is not a brilliant idea, as they will be much more prone to dazzle oncoming traffic.

    Thanks mate,

You are correct, the light at the moment is scattered all over the place.

So, how do I remove the metal shield that is inside the headlamp?

    Cheers

    Hello there

Yes problem was sorted - you'll need to remove the original shield.

I initally failed the MOT when I had the metal shield on, I then removed the metal shield and replaced it with the shield that came with the bulbs and my MOT passed and now get correct beam pattern

    Cheers
