I live in Manchester and there are several dealerships in easy distance:
    Stockport, Warrington, Trafford and Bolton.

I have been in several of them, unfortunately none have had a 2lt T to test drive. Trafford did not seem particulaly interested anyway. Drove a 1.8 in Bolton great fun but have been let down on 2 occasions when wishing to drive a quattro.

This has lead me to wonder at the after service as well - any experience either positive or negative with any of these dealerships?

I got mine from Bolton (2.0 TDi) and whilst I've not had the best experience they've been okay.

I've had an intermittent rattle almost since I had the car and they've had about 4 goes at fixing it and failed completely.

There was also a scratch on one of the door handles on delivery which they failed to polish out properly and the woman that did the handover was fairly clueless (telling me amongst other things that I had no voice dial)

It's due for it's first service in a few k so I'll be mentioning the rattle and the problem with the front lights and see how the do.

My car was a retail purchase from Warrington Audi and the after sales has been excellent. Replacement of 'spotty' headlamp units without query, sorting AMI retrofit (not an easy matter on my 'launch' car) and a few other issues and rather a good master technician. Honestly the best service I've ever had and made to feel that even the small issues mattered. 10/10 for me....

Bolton dealer sister garage to VW (next door) and ,tbh, had rather a lot of problems with VW aftercare from day one at that one and when I looked at trade in at Bolton Audi garage, was told my Golf was crash damaged (-£1500)...which it wasn't. Cue retraction from salesman and me going elsewhere.

Goof aftersales makes such a difference.
