Hi there, just bought a used all road, and discovered front susspension is not working how it should.. Compleatly collapsed on the drive home. had to keep stopping and re starting engine to get it pumped back up again. Managed to get it up to level 3 which worked fine till i got above 60mph where it progressively dropped untill front end was on the deck again..? Leave it on level 3 over night (fine) anything lower and i wake up with it on the deck again.. Any thoughts

The model and year would be good. Did you buy it from a dealer, if so take it back to get it fixed. Regards Peter

Its probably a leaky air bag. As Peter says if it has been bought from a dealer just recently then I'd take it back, the air bags can be expensive.

Taken it to main dealer yesterday, and it worked fine all the way there with no probs, untill i went to leave and low and behold it was on the floor again..

Sounds like a leaking airbag, similar to mine as the thread snuggle bum shows is where we have been problem solving others, or search for other posts by me, Mine would leak quickly on level 1 & 2 but on level 3 it would stay there overnight. the bag was perished and at level 1 & 2 it leaked on the crease. do not run the car on level 1 or 2 as it will burn out the compressor, or may be too late!!. On level 3 you can drive up to a speed 55MPH after this the car auto lowers to level 2 then the compresor will run, if you have to use the car I would strongly reccomend only use at level 3.

To clarify you have a leaking bag, raise to level 4 and soak the suspect suspension air bag with soapy water, if its leaking you will get bubbles forming. you then have 3 options:

    1. Some have tried tyre slime, use for tyre punctures, it might make it last a few months, (i don't recommend this)

    2. you can go to audi £400 +Vat Part only, or fitted guess around £750+

    3. or Arnot in the USA replacement £300 inc shipping to UK. The options arent great but if you are DIY person to change is not too difficult with the right tools, i recently fitted the Arnott option and am happy with the results, a few others are following with the same leakings issues.

1st check the bag is leaking as above before making any decisions!!!

    regards

    Andy
