Hey all, I'll be doing the cross country drive from NYC to LA, about 3,000 miles probably 5 days of driving with detours and stops . Wanted to see what preparation I should do for the drive. I don't have any trouble codes (knock on wood.) I just put on new tires and the Bosch Aeroblade wiper system. I have a 2002 A4 Avant Quattro 3.0 V6 with 72,000mi. I have not done the timing belt yet, but I hear that's due at 80k.
Any parts and service recommendations/advice before I go?

Also, I'll have the back seat folded down with a lot of stuff on it, I noticed the seatbelt latches kind of poke into the seat backs and stretch the leather, anyone found a good way to protect the seats from this?
    Thanks

    How do.

Fluid checks, coolant, oil, screen wash and brake fluid! Perhaps take some with you with that kind of mileage. Oil that is!

Tyre pressure ok? Guess so with new tyres fitted, but always worth a check.

Spare tyre ok? Pressure set at highest pressure vehicle would need! Jack and all the gear you need to change a wheel? Are you au fait with procedure?

Spare bulbs, ie brake light bulbs.

Can't think of much else. I'd have a foot pump in the back just in case.

    Enjoy trip.
