For the new legislation on telephones in cars.

I could have kicked myself for not taking the option for a factory fit bluetooth car kit.

The dealer I got the car from (Teesside Audi) said that after market kits would not interface with the MMI.

Ok so the truth is wrong, they will fit and interfacewith the MMI, although it took the fitter 2 attempts at getting the correct lead.

I opted for a Parrot CK3000. I was told the 3100 was better but I didn't want another display on the dash.

The 3000 works great, the mike is easily hidden and the very small control can be tucked out of the way as there is a great voice activation feature.

My phone is a Windows mobile5 smart phone and supports commands like "telephone" = voice activation, "#user name#" = dial prestored number and "hangup" = what it says on the tin.

This has left what I think is a very neat install.

The fitter I used charged me £170.00 for all kit and labour. He works 7 days a week and although based in the north, he told me he often works contracts in the South.

If anyone wants more info, pics or the fitters contact details, drop me a line.

    Hi.

    Just to confirm.

There are two options, the first is full retro fit bluetooth car kit. (£450.00)
the second, the one I took was the inegration with the MMI sound system (auto mute and sound through the front speakers).

    I do hope that I didn't mislead.

    Option 1 check out

or without handy charger and shark fin antenna:

Option 2 try Nick Ferry, you can email him at smartinstallations@hotmail.co.uk

If you look at the first site (kufatec)..... and want to spend your childs inheritance, they have loads of toys for retro fit.

    Regards
