    mine is clumped up with loads of black deposit inside

    what is the name of a product i can clean/ de-coke this stuff out of it.

    I'd prefer to remove it off the car, rather than blindly spray some of that stuff in from halfords into the air intake.

    You need to take it off the engine and soak it in carb cleaner and use lots of rags to wipe it off. Also, you can pressure wash it with hot water for better results. You will need new gaskets on refitting even though i never had a leak from the old gaskets ! Do not clean the crud in situ as the carbon can/will get sucked inside the engine and will keep valves from oppening/closing properly and there will be piston to valve dammage !
