    Hi All!

Many thanks for your past help with my ancient 1995 A80 1.9TDI. With new clunks appearing from the front suspension, an intermittent AFM fault, cracking driveshaft gaiters, 212000 miles under the belt with MOT and tax due, I'm contemplating a change.

I've now spotted a tidy 1999 A6 1.8T estate at a fair price and going to view tomorrow. Any particulars to look out for on this model at this age?

(by my budget choice of vehicle you can tell I'm not rich )

    Best Regards

I have had a 1.8T estate for the last 6 years. Car is on 83,000 miles and the impeller arm broke off the back of the water pump. My rev counter does not work and neither does the drivers footwell light or red door open light. Check for water under the battery and do a search on here for water in the ECU.
