Mines a 1983 mini that was red.

It cost £45 about 9 years ago. I put mini hilo's on it (adjustable height suspension), and lowered that little bad boy to the deck. I had to cut a lot of wheel arch off and re-weld. By the time I'd finished you could barely fit your hand between the sump and the road!

Stripped all the interior, sound deadenning, seats, dashboard and everything else out. Piece of crap but what a car! That sounds crazy I know, but I'm sure some of you can relate to this!

So com on, lets hear about yours!

Same here but I wouldn't say it was crap.

1st photo circa 1991 with a very young looking Wifey. The car was old then being 1974 vintage.

Photos below the day we said goodbye to the old girl (not the Wife! ) about 3 years ago.

Also, lowering a mini was much simpler. Can't remember the ratio but think it was 1:8, once the knuckle joint was off cut 1mm off the trumpet and it lowered it 8mm. I got a reasonable drop but not to mad as the mod was not reversable.

Had load of fun with it as well....

    NO FLOOR....

    NEW FLOOR....

year was 1996, 1983 mk3 escort, first car, regency red, 1300L, had nothing but was a 3dr, which meant all 3i bits went on, bumpers, wing, seats, interior, clocks, rusty!!!!!!!!!!!! oh yeah rs 7 spokes, alegedly nicked off a smashed up xr4a4 cop car, didnt find out till after stuck to the road like glue with its 205 tyres poking past the arches, used to make my brother sick by doing roundabouts over and over till he begged me to stop, got about 45mph round it. kept it for a year!!

a renault 25 v6 turbo. bought it with 6 months rent and mot on it, and lots of faults. hardly any exhaust, abs light on, fuel guage with a mind of its own, rev counter just as bad, no cooling fans, usual french faults etc..., but boy did it go. a proper sleeper, before that term was invented.

Wreck of a Peugeot 406 bought for £400 and 242,000 on the clock....ran it on a mixture of 80% veg oil and 20% diesel.....it was bomb proof until the MOT failure 9 months later. Sold it on Ebay for £232 with no MOT.
