The rear washer jet is blocked, I have cleaned the nozzle but it would seem to be deeper down the jet,the pumps working ok, how does the jet come out of the spindle, is it a long plastic jet as on the Golf and are they prone to snapping if you try to pull them out. Advice please thanks

yes, put a soft cloth over the plastic shroud that covers the washer jet and pull it off with pliers (gently). You can then pull the jet out with pliers, it just sits in a sleeve in the the pump housing.

According to my colleagues (Audi technicians) all older A3 rear wipers go wrong. Apparently the pipes can also blow themselves away from the various unions, and the trick is to look for puddles
    1. under the passenger side of the engine (pipe union below plastic battery shroud from main washer pump).
    2. In passenger side boot compartment (under CD changer if fitted), where the insulation foam just soaks the fluid up.
    3. Inside tailgate panel itself - spot the drips from it.
