I am looking for advice on changing to an A6 3.0TDI Quattro estate (New).

Although not as roomy an estate as an E class ,it seems better equipped with standard items.

What are the servicing costs like?

Tyres -what sort of life does a Quattro give?

Any problemsyou get with this car?

MPG -what should be a realistic expectation-driving 23K P.A on all sorts of roads?

Any other advice would be helpful

    Thanks

Just bought one ourselves, (New A6 allroad) - had an A4 3.0tdi before.

Recent trip to s of France averaged 36mpg on the autoroutes fully loaded.

average for commuting is around 35 for us. Very similar to the A4 as you would expect.

Servicing is on 'variable' which usually starts at around 18k miles, our last service at 18k was around the £350 mark.

Tyres lasted about 15k on the A4, but have gone for the maintenance package this time, including tyres etc - we do about 20k per year.

Looked at the E class and 5 series also, but preferred the quattro set up. Couldnt find a great deal between any of them in manufacturers figures for either performance/economy/purchase costs.

Had NO problems at all with last 2 A4 cars, but A6 'lost' main beam headlights last night.

    HTH.

So how much was your Maint Package? I have had 3 different quotes and there is£12/month difference when they should be the same 36 payments.
Hope you get the main beam back, now the dark nights are a comin`

Only had my 06 3.0TDI Quattro for about 3 months, but I'm averaging just about 34mpg, so pretty much the official figure.

That's nearly double what I got out of my old Merc CL600 though, and the Audi isn't noticeably any slower.
