    Hi
I am a new owner of used Audi A4 Avant 1.9 tdi 2004 year. I was searching for anti theft alarm and immobilazer for my car, but I can not find any!The car does not make a horn sound when I lock him and I try to recode the adress 46 cent. conv. to add 1024 (to make a horn) to my code (06976-code of add. 46) without success! I make also a output test of same modul but there wasn't any option for alarm horn or test, only some locking and unlocking options. Then I was wandering about immobilazer and I couldn't find a sign on instrument cluster. I looked on owner's manual (which is in german- I do not understand a word!) and I recognized the symbol but on the plase of this symbol in my cluster is another symbol which I do not know what is it! I am sending a 2 pict of my cluster and I circled it.
Please help if somebody know what is the meaning of the symbol,is it a immobilazer?

Thanks for reply, do You know how I can check does my car have a immobilazer, because I can not see the symbol on cluster, I took these pictures during testing of instrument cluster. I have address 25 immobilazer on vag com and I enter but there is no measuring blocks and I am afraid to do the test.

it has an immobilizer as standard..

if you wanted to make sure and was daring!! (IF) take the battery and chip out of the key fob and try to start it...

I would not do it .. I would not of thought you have to recode the key after.. but i say that just in case!!

I know when i dropped my key when running, it shattered everywhere on the floor... and it still worked when i put it back together!!

Immobilisor symbol is in the rev counter, it should light up when the ignition is first switched on.

Yes on VW cars is like that ( I had Passat), but on Audi that symbol should be on the place where is this tire press warning lamp but as You saw it is not. I am sending a insert of audi quick reference guide concernig instrument cluster where You can see all the lamps.

    Hi

Your immob it self is built into the dash it will not show
on the dash unless there is a fault in the immob, its a key
shaped symbol, but this will not light after making the ignition
live. it will only light if there is a fault,

I think you have the wrong coding for the central convenience unit. See http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/audiB6.html for more info but assuming your car is right hand drive and located in Great Britain then the coding should be 08139.
