    hi, i've had a new battery in my golf and the mfd sat nav unit now need as code to start the unit back up. I've been in vw and recieved a code but the code does work does anybody have any idea's on bypassing the coding or contact number to help me with??

    If the unit you have was supplied with the car, then VW can give you the correct code from the chasis No.
    If it is a replacement unit then it has a VW code stamped on the unit and from this VW can tell you what car it was fitted to, or if it was a parts sale.
    If the origin is hookey then look on Ebay VW Navigation and there is companys who can reset/decode it for you.

    the radio code should be in the handbook.

    mine was - on a little credit card sized piece of card.
