Bought her an auto lock (handbrake and gearstick lock) for Christmas but it jst sits in the back of the car as she can't be bothered to use it!

    Grrrrrr!

just tell her it makes her look sexy when she puts it on, and buy her some flowers if she starts using it.

Have the car stolen as a joke for a few hours and teach her a lesson or hit her over the head with the lock and teach her a lesson of another kind…

I used to have one of these but stopped using it ages ago. Bought different ones over time, steering lock bar, steering lock disc, gear and handbrake lock. After the novelty wears off they just get cumbersome and irritating.

My wife was quite good with her gear and handbrake lock in her Micra, until I started driving it. I never really see anyone using them anymore. Is it because car's a more difficult to break into these days?

Its as easy to smash a car window as its alwasy been! Modern immobilisers do make them harder to steal though.

I kept using that line, until I realised it didn't do me any favours! "It's only a bloody micra and a 1L at that too!"

^ ^ Reminds me when I had my first car- which was a Skoda Estelle (don't laugh!)- and I had a tough job convincing the insurance broker that I really didn't need the "theft" bit in "3rd party, fire & theft"......hey, I was young at the time lol!!!!!!!
