    Hi Guys

Another post water problem (maybe we should form a sub forum) I have managed to get my carpets up and the sound proofing was soaking. The ccm box had so much water in it i had to pour it out! i'm amazed that the electrics worked at all! i took out the ccm to check it out and it was slightly corroded where the leads go into the box but not as bad as i had feared. I dried it out and plugged it back in, the only 2 problems left are 1) the lights don't come on when i unlock the door or open it, but they do if i flick the switch or use the map light. 2) the boot doesn't unlock now unless i use the key.

My wife is going to take the ccm into work and give it to someone who works on car electrics so they can have a look at it. my question is do you guys think that those 2 funtions will have been "kiiled off" by the water problems or can a bit of soldering get them back again?

My guess is soldering and replacing any corroded wires will do the trick.

Clean them up well. If any are corroded/oxidized then cut them and solder in a new wire. Basically go from a clean, good looking bit to another! Do them one at a time..

    Hi everyone

A quick update we had someone look at ccm and he soldered all of the relevent bits and hey prseto the lights work again. my question is the boot sounds as if it's unlocking (there is a click) but it doesn't unlock. i have read on a few threads about the micro switch do you guys think this could have gone, and if so how much cost/hassle is it as, i think i can live with just using the key to unlock it for a while.

    Thanks Tom
