Is there a way to turn the warning off? Because I think I may have done it by accident. I could really do with it working. Is there a switch I need to press or something?

If your not getting the warning when opening the drivers door, the microswitch in the lock

But the interior "puddle" light (Red and White at the base of the door) doesn't work. The interior light does though.

I read that the "puddle" light not working was a symptom of this microswitch failing...

You could have a broken wire in the door.
Have a look at the loom by the door hinges.

Hmmmm - my puddle light wouldn't come on and my remote central locking stopped working too, so couldn't lock my car (de-lock kit fitted).

Turned out to be fuse 14 (I think) needed replacing - sorted but 2hrs wasted trying to figure it out

I know you have probably checked this but only mentioning it because no one has yet but if you leave the indicator stalk on to turn left or right when you turn the engine off and open the drivers door then the headlight on warning buzzer will sound but the sidelight on the side the stalk is on will be on

Fixed in the end - fitted a new lock mechanism. £98!
