What is the best and easiest method of changing the power steerig fluid?
Where do you drain the fluid from?
Is a special VW spec only fluid required?
How much fluid does it take?
    Thanks

You don't get a drain point because you never need to change it.

You have to use special green fluid. You don't have to get it from VW, for example Comma Oils do a VW PAS fluid.

When I did mine, I sucked it out of the reservoir via it's inlet with the engine running using a PELA while pouring new fluid in. Not great but it worked. Used 3 litres of fluid and did several goes steering lock to lock to make sure as much as possible was flushed.

    What is a PLEA?

Haynes says change every two years, but doesn't say how believe it or not.

The only reason I'm changing it is because I have a PAS issue that a fluid change may help with before I go to the potentially unneccessary expence of a new pump.

I'm not changing it for the fun.

Those PELA extraction pump are pretty good, I use mine to change the engine oil. Do Haynes really recommend a 2 year change interval for PAS fluid?? I know thats the case for brake fluid but surely not power steering fluid?
