    Hi

I have just taken delivery of a new B6 SEL 170 with the Sports pack and one or two other extras.

I have one or two comments however.

Firstly the car is great and the new Euro 5 170CR is very smooth and gives good consumption better than my old 130PD.

Now we come to the problem points

I ordered the car with Bi Xenons which according to the August publication came with Daytime Running Lights. When the car came no DRL and after a discussion with the Dealer it appears it was a mistake by VW UK to say that the Bi Xenons had DRL in the package. Also the Off side headlight washer is very erratic Comments please.

Even though all of the Specs show that the Passengers seat should have lumber support none has been fitted! (either Electric or manual)

The coming and leaving home function for the lights is only 10 seconds. I asked the dealer if this could be changed. The answer is no. Is this the case please.

My Passat has come with the new dash pod and has the White MFD. Apart from the fact that it displays the wrong units it shows hardly any information. It is worse than the old Midline!! Now there is no outside temperature display in the car unless the function is selected in the MDF. I had two in the old B5. In order to correct the display the dealer is changing the pod so it may show other information when the new one is fitted. I would have thought on a £24500 car they would have fitted the fully programmable MFD Comments please.

on the lumbar and the running lights if it says it should have it , then get them to sort it, also the light washers, not enough to say its a mistake, or at least get something out them. Re the mfd, if you can't get in to it to change things, they really are cuttuing things back to save pennies, the SEL is top of the range, dissappointing to say the least.

Not so straight forward to sort this out as the VW small print clearly states "The prices and specification contained within this brochure are for information purposes only as our products are continually updated and changes may be made to prices and specifications at any time. If you require any specific feature, you must consult your authorised Volkswagen retailer etc, etc". I think this is also on their web site somewhere.

The headlight washer does sound defective, so should be sorted by the dealer without question.

Unless you ordered the Highline MFD (or had an option that also uses it such as Premium Bluetooth) you only get the fairly basic Midline MFD information, but from what I'm led to believe the dealer should be able to sort out any changes regarding coming/leaving home timing, units etc in their workshop.

Hope it's not blotted your new car feeling too much, and your dealer is willing to come to some sort of arrangement to sort out your issues.

Thanks have most of the things sorted now but the ew white lettering MFD is still wrong. The fuel consumption reading is about 7 mile per gallon optimistic and it states miles instead of MPG in some of the readings. Also the temperature is only displayed when selected. The dealer has told me that VW know about the faults and there will be a software upgrade sometime.
