Help needed with Golf TDI 1.9 1996 Brake and power steering problem

Hello,

I have a few problems with my car, first is the brakes when traveling at slow speed in heavy traffic through london etc the car makes a loud deep sqeak/moan noise when travelling from 5mph to even 25 mph this is coming from the front brakes but when i press the brake pedal it goes away, this only happens once i have been driving for 30 mins or so. i gues the pads may be rubbing against the discs, also at higher speed say 70mph when i brake the brakes judder and through the steering wheel as well.

is this just a case of replacing front discs and pads?

Also last problem is power steering it seems quite stiff and make a noise when turing the steering wheel im also quessing it may be the power steering drive belt, can anybody please help with this? any advice would be great

update*** cleaned out brakes and calipers stopped noise and judder!!

got 2 new firestone tyres car seems so much better and power steering seems easier!

these problems could have been a mixture of wheel balancing and dirty brakes

Just thought i would let you guys know.
