    hi
looking to fit a parrot 9200i kit into my 2004 a4 avant, liking halfords prices of £176 fitted but worried about the fitters, our local store said it would be powered all the time and that the rear speakers wouldnt mute in a call.both big drawbacks .
are they hard to fit ? any ideas just that local radio shops all want £250+ for the same kit
    greatful for any help

What's area are you in, I can probably put you in touch with a reputable mobile fitter, that should be cheaper and a LOT better than Halfords. First part of your postcode will do, or PM me if you want to keep it private

thanks froggy im in east sussex . managed to get street stereo in eastbourne to price match them in the end.they did say it was the last time mind lol.it turns off as it should do and mutes the rear speakers.
only one problem remains ..no music coming from rear speakers, which apparently they cant overcome with that model??if i used the lower spec 3100 or 3200 series they could.bit strange

Not sure how they work that out, it's to do with the rear speakers being amplified and not fed directly from the head unit. I can't see how the different kit would change that... ? ?

No, they are fed from a low level output (some call it a pre-amp output) on the head unit. It's on a separate connector, and you can't just interrupt it, like the front speaker outputs.

On your car it's on the top 20 way connector.

Well if you ignore the parrot kit, you can get a Ipod link for your headunit. That goes in through the CD changer connection. And that will work on all four speakers obviously.
