from the day i bought the my car (a4 1996 1.9tdi 110 afn) i had a creaking noise come from the ABS pump every time i braked, so ive just this morning put a second hand ABS pump on it, but its still the same if not a little quieter? does anyone else know what it could be? ABS sensors? or should i just bite my lip and go and buy a new unit? can someone give me some advice? thanks!

    check sensors on diag machine
it may be a sensor or a rotor fault but your abs light should come on if faulty
    try cleaning rotors first
