In my opinion, the S-Line suspension set-up is about ready for replacement at 40k (in my case, the dampers need replacing).

Your squeaking could one of many things, but here are two suggestions:
    • Slightly rusty shock absorber piston shaft
    • The flat top coil of the spring is rotating slightly against the upper spring cup (I don't know the proper name for it)

You could turn the steering to full right lock and spray a load of WD40 at the top and bottom of the spring (where the spring joins other suspension components). If the shock-absorber piston shaft is exposed, give that a squirt and a wipe too.

It's a quick job, worth a try. Even though the brake disc has a splash guard, make sure you cover the disc with an old towel / newspaper whilst you're spraying the WD40.

    Al.

I'd give it a quick go.. it may save you a trip to the dealership (or at least eliminate a possible cause), but I take your point.

Let us know how you get on...
