Hi my 99 A6 avant alarm just goes off all the time when its locked, I've checked the usual suspects (pollen filter housing, passenger footwell, CCM) and its all bone dry so it doesn't seem to be water ingress.
I've had the freeware version of vag-com on it which seemed to suggest one of the rear side windows has been smashed (which it hasn't) but not sure if this is correct either.
Anyone any ideas? does anyone have a wiring diagram for the C5 Avant alarm set up so I can see how the alarm would know that a boot side window is smashed and see if I can bypass it?
Is it possible to just disconnect the alarm?
Any info GREATLY appreciated as at the moment I have to disconnect the battery everytime I leave it parked anywhere lol.

Read the fault codes with vag-com and post the text here.

I didn't think that the Avant had glass break detectors, but if it has, then it might be that one is faulty or has a wiring fault.

I think the alarm can be disabled with vag-com, but you'd need the registered version.

Check the code again. The avant does have a sensor wire in the rear glass so it could just be the connector. Regards Peter
