Having installed the bulbs from the kit, I am now wondering where others have fitted the ballasts to. The kit is working great but I don't know where is the best place to put them as it can't go too close to the engine because of the heat, and some people have said that where they put it caused it to interfere with the stereo.

    Help please

I read that if you do not ground the ballasts properly you can get interference.

With mine i fixed the drivers side ballast under the piece of plastic that he headlight rests on with cable ties.

The passenger side there is a piece of plastic just behind the headlight that i drilled 2 holes in and mounted the ballast.

I can go and take a picture if that helps?

Nope, i havent got any interference problems with my radio either (although it did make my itrip transmitter from my ipod abit fuzzy, so i got a proper ipod kit).

Might just depend on how high quality the kit is.

I have mounted mine in identical place as you buddy and i get interferance on mine . The kit was £70 and i know its a good kit as i had the same kit on my anniversary golf before. Its going in for a new stereo and hands free kit on friday, so i am going to ask them to sort the ballasts out, so i can clear reception again.

Thanks for your help guys. I've fitted them in the same places that you recommended and so far so good. Loved getting the opportunity to see them in action last night. They are unbelievable (but I suppose they should be, I've gone for the 8000k option). Thanks for your posts and defo thanks for the pictures.

Hi, do you know if it would be safe enough to mount both ballasts in the same place (assuming slim ballasts)?

Also are you all using the 35W kit or 55W kits?

I have a 4300K kit in mine with grounded ballasts and I get radio interferance as well. Has anyone been able to sort this out? Strangely enough when I have the hood open the interferance is gone!? It seems as this is some sort of a Faraday's cage effect.

I have both ballasts under the plastic pieces under the headlights and they're grounded with 2.5mm^2 wires to the car frame.
