I have noticed a number of posts concerning car seats recently.

Anybody out there tried to get a third car seat in the back of an estate??

I have 2 isofix britax in the back at the moment and can't see another fitting inbetween...

No. Not really. Well, not at all.

    You might try this though:

    From http://www.multimac.co.uk/home

However - There's a few questions over where it gained its safety certification from as it states it has EU-R44-04 certification (http://www.childcarseats.org.uk/standards/r4403.htm) so it's worth an ask I'd say

Edit - Dammit - beaten to it!

    hi,

i was just wondering if its an option to have the non driving adult on the rear seat b/w the 2 britax and have the 3rd baby seat in front?

or is it legally not allowed to have a baby on front seat?

I am afraid your only other otptions may be to up(down) grade to Touran/Sharran..

    Good luck

It depends if you can isolate the passenger airbag, otherwise it's a no-no. Also, DOT advice says put children in the rear whenever possible.

I can just about get my bum between the two seats. Not nice for more than 10 minutes!

Have a nasty feeling I'll be looking at changing vehicles!!

You can turn off the front airbag. I think you have to use the plastic key in the fob to do so.
I can get 3 seats in the back but not using iso fix. When you use the seatbelts as the securing method you can position the seats closer twards the door therby leaving more for the middle seat. However it is tight and the fact that the seatbelt connectors are flush with the bench seat means a bit of faffing around. In my opinion this is worth it as the option of a people carrier could not be contemplated

The idea of a people carrier is pretty ghastly but may be the only option. Stretching over to put a struggling child into a middle seat seems like a recipe for a sore back...
