    Hi
Can any one help changed the temperature sensor today. now I have no servo assistance with brakes, checked all pipes all are still connected.
I have had recent problems with brakes if I used the brakes a lot I lost the servo assistance, Is is just coincidence that this has happened after changing the temperature sensor. PLEASE HELP

You must have knocked off the vacuum pipe to the vac pump on the head or the small pipe that supplies vacuum to the EGR and turbo control so you are gong to experience engine problems too. The pipes for this are directly above the temp sensor so check again. Follow the main vac line back from the head pump to the bulkhead grommet and along to the servo. This pipe is also known for splitting so it may have failed at one of the couplings.

    Hi crasher

I have checked all the vacuum pipes all seem to be connected. Do you know how I can test the vacuum pump I have pulled off one of the vacuum pipes there does seem to be a small amount of suction but not much. I noticed where the small stub comes out of the vacuum pump it is very loose it it meant to by like this. Thanks for any advice you can give me.

Found the problem. You were right Crasher. There was a vacuum pipe disconnected from what looks like a small wheel if that makes sense, think it might be a one way valve. Thanks for the help crasher.

That is a one way valve and is the vacuum supply for the EGR and turbo control.

Sorry if I sound daft, but would this have caused the lack of servo assistance, The valve is the one on top of the air intake. thanks

It allows a loss of vacuum which is what the servo uses to provide assistance.
