Hi - Just Ordered an Avant SE and have a few questions.

I just ordered a new 1.8T 160 Avant SE in meteor gray. I included the bluetooth prep low and ipod connection [AMI or MMI?] plus parking sensors and hill hold.

The wife and I use blackberry phones, hopefully these will pair up ok with the car? anybody else use a blackberry in their B8 A4??

Also does the ipod interface clearly display playlists and track names on the dash screen?

My blackberry worked with my old (54 plate) A3, and a brand new TT thatI had as a loan car, so i can't see why Audi would have removed that connectivities on the A4.

My A4 SE Avant is also on order now so I'll hopefully be putting this to the test as well in the not too distant future.

I've used a 8800, Bold and a Pearl and all have worked fine.

Although I do occasionally get a problem where the phone book isn't downloaded to the car.

AMI is Audi Music Interface i.e. IPOD Connection

MMI Multi Media Interface - Buttons on the dash or my the gear stick if MMI High i.e. SAT NAV

Blackberry should work fine.

Yep, with AMI you do get to see the names of the tracks / artists on the dash screen as well as the DIS.
From the steering wheel (if you have a multi function wheel) you can control the ipod using the DIS in the dashboard while your main display shows something else (such as navigation info, if you have nav)

MMI is on all new audi's. But only if you have DVD nav do you get "MMI high"

I have phone prep low and find it excellent. I have never had a problem with it downloading the phone book on. Thats with a new BB Pearl and iphone with plenty of entries

Parking sensors are pretty good although i did reverse into a wall when i turned them off... Talk about relying too much on technology; i didnt even check my mirrors, just wated for the beeps that never came.
I have Park Plus which is a factory fitted option and shows a graphic display on the mmi screen. Not sure about just "sensors"

Hope you love the car as much as I do, i to have an avant. I prefer to call it a tourer as opposed to an estate

Mine works fine, it downloads the phone book from the sim card so what ever you have on the sim appears in your phone book.

Yes! it displays the track in the dash screen even when it reverts back to trip details. Both the AMI and Phone can be controlled from the wheel controls also.

One tip, if you can get the lighting pack added! really worth it...
