    I have a 115Bhp Bora and I've been looking to increase the power. I saw a certain chip being sold on ebay for about £24 and it supposedly increases power by up to 39 bhp. Is this for real, have any of you guys used it??

    Makes them run badly, it is not a chip or remap. All it does is fool the fuel temp reading. If it was that easy to do it properly, there wouldn’t be a market for the other services costing ten or even twenty times that amount.

    Steer well clear. A proper custom remap is the only reliable way to give these sorts of power gains.

    For a remap it will cost you £270-300. Can't be possible to get the same from a £24 plug on box. get the remap

    I'd much rather pay £300 which includes a live map and power runs on the dyno than trust this "thing" I saw it today on ebay.....my opinion...........give it a wide birth matey unless your a gambler, going to get mine chipped in the next month or so.

    Cheers

    I was also interested in one of these £25 chips from Germany. I had been told 2nd hand that they were brilliant and really did work. I have always been dubious, so you have all now confirmed my suspisions and I will steer well clear of this modification.

    Yeah, another thing to consider is that any fool can copy software and call it there own, the problems start, if;

    It's not a good copy
    you never see the person therefore no one is acountable
    these ones do not get good feedback.

    Now im not saying that everyone will be bad, some might actually work but I just think that it is better to know what your getting and get what you pay for.

    the puzzling thing about these chips is the difference in prices, ranging from £24 to over £300, surely no one would by the most expensive if they all do the job right. there's a definitely a catch to the cheap ones- damage to your car! I'll steer clear!
