    Hi all,

So I've got the phone kit in my car I've just bought.

I'm trying to connect my BlackBerry Pearl 8100 when I search for devices it does not find the blackberry by name. Although I get asked to enter a code on the blackberry screen. As the code is not on the centre console it will not connect.

Can someone advise if they have a 8100 what options they have swithched on to enable it to work?

I also have a Nokia N80 that I couldnt get to work but after playing with my Bluetooth menu I found remote sim option. This enabled the phone to work with the bluetooth kit without any problems. I can not find this option on my Blackberry.

    Secondly...

I have a cradle in the armrest that is clearly used with the phone kit in some way. Can anyone tell me if/where I can obtain the correct insert card for my phones? It would make life a little easier.

    Many thanks

Can't help with the cradle, but as for pairing, it may be that your Blackberry needs to be 'Discoverable' - otherwise other devices can't see it by name.

    To make it discoverable:

    • Go into the Settings menu (may be called Options or Configure depending on your carrier)
    • Go to Bluetooth
    • Press the BB symbol Menu button (to the left of the Pearl)
    • Choose Options
    • Make sure Discoverable is set to Yes

    Then try pairing again.

    Hope that helps!

Thanks for the info, but I had this option enabled when I tried it the other night and it still didnt find the blackberry.

Its really odd because on the BB it asks me to enter the code so the kit must be finding the BB. I wonder if the code is my SIM code number? maybe that might work?

I've been doing a lot of reading and it seems that the phones must have Rsap (remote Sim) but I can not see this option on my 8100 and it appears to be something that a lot of the modern phones dont have (well except a few Nokia). Samsung and LG forget it!!

I might end up swapping Sims as my work mobile is the 8100 and my private number is the Nokia N80. Most people call me on my work mobile these days.
