    Guys,

Can anyone tell me EXACTLY where the N75 (Boost control valve) is in the engine bay, on a 1.9tdi, 115 bhp, ATJ engine, as I need to replace it. There are plenty of threads mentioning the valve but I cannot find one showing where exactly it is. If anyone had a pic of its position that would be just splendid.

    Ahhhh,
I didn't know that was there.... its difficult to see from above. If i am looking at the correct item ...as you say its under the intake pipe on the right hand side of the engine generally ...and you really have to bend right down and get your head in there to see it.
One of the vacuum pipes going into it cobered in like a cloth...has a really tight bend on it as it goes into the plastic pipe.
    Just wondering if its constricted.

    Many Thanks

Try blowing into the vacuum pipes, or sucking. If you can blow or suck you have a leak. Garages use a mitivac to save sticking pipes in your mouth.

    Hi

I'm sure you guys know your stuff, but I have to question this info. On my 130 and my 90 hp tdi's the EGR control valve is located at this site. The N75 is down low in the area in front of the turbo. On the 130 the N75 and EGR valves look almost identical and have very similar part numbers, hence this query!
I don't know the 115 engine and the info could be accurate for all I know but thought it worth mentioning

I do know that the N75 valve (wherever it is located) will be attached by a vacuum hose directly to the vacuum actuator for the VNT mechanism on the turbo - the gold coloured bit on this turbo:

Yep. one way to find the N75 valve is to start at the turbo actuator (gold bit) and work your way back.
