    Hi

I've just been told that I need a new ABS Control Unit and pump for my Golf GT TDI (1.9 Diesel). The garage have said that they have never known this kind of thing to malfunction but have said that the only option is to get a new one and they are quoting me over a grand to sort it out!!!

Does anyone know if there are any alternatives? E.g can the existing ABS control unit & pump be fixed or can I get a 2nd hand one?

Does a grand sound excessive? What do you reckon?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Cheers

my friends has just sent his controller module (abs) to this lot:
    http://www.bba-reman.com
Can't vouch for them as yet. They offer the same service as above (£400 recon) however they also have a send of for repair service £100 +p+p. this applies to either the pump or the controller.
It is usually the controller that fails. My friends getting his controller done and if that doesn't help then do his pump. The controller is easy to remove and car can still run without it.

have a look at this if your interested.
